Hendersonville man faces charges involving sexual exploitation of a minor | #teacher | #children | #kids

Authorities have arrested and charged a man after receiving a cyber tip.

According to a release sent by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, on Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2020, detectives from the Major Crimes Unit, along with assistance from the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation and the Department of Homeland Security, executed a search warrant at 23 Keeneland Drive in Hendersonville concerning the sexual exploitation of a minor.

Officials say the investigation began after detectives received a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Detectives were able to locate evidence inside the home, according to the release, and Patrick Ryan McFarland was arrested at the residence.

McFarland was charged with three counts of third degree sexual exploitation of a minor and is currently being held in the Henderson County Detention center under a $30,000 secured bond.

The Henderson County Sherriff’s Office reports more charges are anticipated as the investigation continues.
