Homeless man fatally shot in Santa Rosa, found by security guard | #College. | #Students

Santa Rosa police detectives are asking for the public’s help in providing information on a fatal shooting of a homeless man early Friday morning.

A security guard called the Police Department at 12:22 a.m. Friday and said he found an unconscious man who was not breathing near the rear of a business in the 400 block of College Avenue in Santa Rosa, police said.

Medical personnel responded and noticed the man had a gunshot wound. Police said the man, only identified as a 29-year-old from Santa Rosa, died at the scene.

Police said they are investigating the shooting as a homicide. The man’s name will not be released until his family is notified.

Anyone with information about the shooting should call the Santa Rosa Police Violent Crimes Team at 707-543-3590.

Police said local community coalition Sonoma County Alliance is offering a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect involved in this incident.
