Daleville man with pending sex charges now faces child porn charges too

A Daleville man with multiple sexual assault-related charges already pending now faces several child pornography charges too.
Daleville Police Chief Harvey Mathis confirmed investigators with the Daleville Police Department recently arrested 55-year-old Andrew Patrick Bywater, and charged him with nine felony counts of the possession of child pornography.
Court records show Bywater was booked into the Dale County Jail last week and held on bail totaling $45,000 for the nine charges.
The date of occurrence for the child pornography offenses date back to the same time period for Bywater’s other pending felony charges.
Daleville police arrested Bywater in November of 2014, and charged him with felony promoting prostitution, felony electronic solicitation of a child and felony first-degree sex abuse.
According to an earlier Dothan Eagle report after Bywater’s original arrest, Daleville police served a search warrant at Bywater’s Judy Street home, during which they seized multiple computers and cell phones.
Then Daleville police investigator Sgt. Jason Grantham told the Eagle the promoting prostitution and electronic solicitation charges allegedly involved a 12-year-old victim.
Court records show police charged Bywater with the prostitution of a girl less than the age of 16 during the months of March 1, 2013 and November 7, 2014.
Records also show the electronic solicitation of a child charge allegedly involved Bywater engaging in sexually explicit conversation with a 12-year-old girl on Facebook.
