Nevada – A Nevada business works to put a little extra bounce in the step of some kids as they return to school this fall.
Rob Shull, owner of Lady Liberty Tattoo Company in Nevada, says it was a desire to help kids start the school year on the right foot that lead to “Kicks 4 Kids.” Shull is hoping to raise enough money to buy new shoes for about 300 kids in need in the Nevada school system before the year starts. He says along with giving them something comfortable to wear, it can also help boost their confidence, and enable them to reach their full potential.
“If kids are able to go to school, and you know, they’ve got nicer shoes and they’re not wearing worn out clothes and this and that it may jump start them into, you know, less bullying,” Shull says.
The next big fundraiser for Kicks 4 Kids will take place next Saturday, August 5, at the Vernon County Fair Grounds. You are invited out for a meal, live DJ, silent auction and fun for the whole family. Everything gets started at six that evening and runs through ten o’clock that night. Donations for the silent auction are still being accepted.
