CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (CLARKSVILLENOW) – It was a bit of a wet day for youngsters on Saturday, but not really because of occasional rain, it was the Back to School Splash pool party with Clarksville Parks & Recreation.

Children and teens turned out at both the Bel-Aire and Swan Lake swimming pools for a lot of fun and backpacks filled with some great school supplies.

Let’s not forget that hot dogs, chips and drinks for students, grades K-12 and parents, was also part of the end of summer fun package.

Not only were lifeguards on duty for the safety of those having in the pools, other safety measures were going on outside the pools that were handled by parks and recreation staff.

Social distancing guidelines were in place, hand sanitizer was available for everyone, and everything, including the diving board and handrails of the pools were sanitized on a regular basis.
