La Vernia teen accused of filming alleged sexual assault, possessing child pornography

According to police records obtained exclusively by News 4, a La Vernia High School student has been charged with child pornography.
In the record it states a victim made an outcry of sexual assault, claiming the offender assaulted her and filmed the illegal act on his phone.
According to the victim, these assaults happened several times in the hallway of the 500 building at La Vernia High school back in November.
The documents state the offender was interviewed and during the interview he admitted to having other nude photos on his phone.
A search warrant was issued for the offender’s phone and police discovered several more images along with the videos taken with the victim on school property. On the iPhone 6 Plus, police determined there were 20 or more images of nude children, approximately eight to 14 years of age.
The student was charged with child pornography and expelled from school. No charges have been filed in the alleged sexual assault.
Superintendent Dr. Jose Moreno issued a statement to News 4:
“Following the arrest on November 16th, an administrative expulsion hearing was held on December 1 and appropriate disciplinary action was taken. The student is not enrolled at La Vernia High School.”
