He was not the student’s teacher but they met each other at the school, Hillsborough deputies say.
RUSKIN – A college success coach at Lennard High School in Ruskin has been accused of having sex with a 16-year-old student.
Anthony Errol Witter, 37, of Ruskin, was charged with six counts of Unlawful Sexual Activities with a Minor. Witter is a college success coach at the school.
The relationship began about Nov. 12 and lasted until March 19, according to the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office. Witter was not the student’s teacher, but they met each other at school. HCSO was alerted to the relationship when another student, a friend of the 16-year-old girl, reported the relationship to an adult.
“Anthony Witter knew that his actions were wrong, and as the adult, he should never have allowed this relationship to develop with a minor,” Hillsborough Sheriff Chad Chronister. said “No parent should have to worry about their child being preyed upon when they send them to school. We are thankful that another student bravely came forward to report this inappropriate and unacceptable behavior.”
At this time, detectives believe this is an isolated incident and do not believe there are other victims.
