New Delhi: Twinkle Khanna just dropped the pearls of wisdom on parenting. The author recently expressed her thoughts on how to raise kids without losing oneself. She posted a monochrome picture with daughter Nitara. In the Instagram caption, the 47-year-old wrote, “Our job is not to give our children perfect childhoods. It is to fill their heads with ideas, to honour their strengths and make them aware, but never underline their weaknesses. It involves loving them madly and throwing a few vegetables down their throats. We need to permanently dedicate a large number of our neurons towards their mosquito bites, bad grades and hurt feelings.”

Mrs Funnybones advised all the mothers out there to cater to their own self-growth while doing the mom-duties. She added, “And we must do all of this, day after day, without losing sight of everything we are and can be, along with being their mothers. #perfectlyimperfectparenting.” Actress Malaika Arora hit the like button on this post. Fans also found this advice by the best-selling author relatable and responded with heart emojis.

Twinkle has always been witty and real with her social media gyaan. She recently shared two pictures from her vacation with husband Akshay Kumar comparing a couple’s Instagram version to reality. While in one picture the two pose for a perfect happy selfie, the other one sees them indulge in banter. She wrote, “Couples on Instagram and then in reality. If we all really smiled at each other like we do when someone pulls out a camera, there would be fewer divorces.”

The couple has an elder son, Aarav. When not being the ‘perfectly imperfect’ mother to her two kids, Twinkle is a columnist, an interior designer, a producer and a best-selling author.
