House District 46 Rep. John Lyle Jr. said a flyer recently circulated by an opponent suggested that he is not qualified to serve the people of the 46th district on matters pertaining to education.
“Let the record show that virtually my entire professional career has been devoted to teaching and learning. My experience as a teacher, high school principal, college instructor and superintendent of schools qualify me to ensure that our kids get the top-notch education that they deserve,” he said.
As a state representative, Lyle said he has supported increased funding for pre-K through 12 and public higher education, standards-driven educational programming, the expansion of student assistance counselors in our high schools, and enacting “common-sense gun safety measures to keep our schools safe.”
“My record has clearly been one of a champion of education and I look forward to continuing that work,” he said.
