A Northwest Side man has been charged with sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl multiple times this year in the Bronzeville neighborhood, police said Thursday.
Anthony Frontera, 53, of the 3800 block of North Ottawa Avenue, has been identified as having sexually assaulted the girl “multiple times” from Jan. 1 to May 11, according to a news release from Chicago police.

Frontera was arrested about 3:45 p.m. Wednesday in the 100 block of Douglas Avenue in Elgin, according to police. Police did not detail how Frontera knew the girl.
The assaults took place in the 3500 block of South Giles Avenue, according to police. The Chicago Military Academy is located at 3519 S. Giles Ave., and Frontera is listed in Chicago Public Schools and state databases as a science teacher at the school. He has been a CPS teacher since at least fall 2001, and a teacher at Chicago Military Academy since at least 2006, according to CPS and state databases held by the Tribune.
A spokesman for CPS emailed Thursday night did not immediately return a request for comment.
Frontera is scheduled to appear in Cook County bond court on Friday, according to police.
