Man Pleads Guilty to Federal Child Porn Charge

GULFPORT, Miss. (AP) – A man has pleaded guilty this week to a federal charge of possession of child pornography, court records show.

A federal grand jury in January indicted 48-year-old Timothy Winfred Miller on one count each of possession and distribution of child pornography. The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1GzlPdO ) that the distribution charge was dropped in exchange for his plea.

Miller is facing a maximum prison term of up to 10 years and a fine of up to $250,000. His sentencing is set for May 15.

According to the indictment, Miller on or about April 19, 2013, in Harrison County distributed visual depictions of children engaged in sexual acts by way of the Internet.

In addition, the indictment says on Nov. 20, 2013, in Harrison County, Miller possessed child pornography on a laptop computer.
