KNOXVILLE — A man has turned himself in to police after a child abuse investigation.
Jeffrey LaRue, 48, of Knoxville surrendered after 5 p.m. Friday, according to the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. An investigation conducted by the Knox County Sheriff’s Office Family Crisis Unit led to a grand jury five-count indictment that charged LaRue with contributing to delinquency of a minor, allowing an unlicensed driver to drive an automobile, reckless endangerment, sexual battery by an authority figure and assault.
LaRue’s bond was set at $40,000. His criminal history in Knox County includes obstruction of justice charges.
The KCSO Family Crisis Unit investigates cases involving domestic violence, child abuse, elder abuse and animal abuse.
