Middle-school teacher arrested for child pornography; student among his victims: Police – Crime Online | #teacher | #children | #kids

A Texas middle-school teacher has been arrested on charges of possessing child pornography and sexual performance by a child.

According to ABC-13, at least one of the alleged victims is a current or former student of Tyler Hardy-Croskey’s.

Court documents obtained by the news station show that Hardy-Croskey, 25, was arrested on April 15 and charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography after investigators found images of minors “engaging in sexual conduct” in his possession. The eighth-grade teacher at West Lake Middle School in Humble is also charged with one count of sexual performance of a child. The charges allege that Hardy-Croskey victimized ‘”a child younger than eighteen years of age … to engage sexual conduct” in December 2020.

According to the report, that alleged victim’s father found messages on the child’s phone and alerted authorities.

West Lake Middle School Principal Dr. Ken Hodgkinson said in a statement that Hardy-Croskey has been removed from the school’s campus, though the suspect’s employment status is unclear.

“Humble ISD works in cooperation with law enforcement for the safety and well-being of all. Humble ISD Police are in communication with Houston Police about the case,” the statement read. “Persons with information regarding this case are encouraged to contact Humble ISD Police at 281-641-7900. As this is a police matter, please understand that we are unable to provide details at this time.”

Hardy-Croskey bailed out of custody late last week and is expected to appear in court on Monday.
