#minorsextrafficking | ECPAT Names 2020 Top U.S. Members

Anti-human trafficking organization ECPAT-USA
has released its list of 2020 top members among signers of the Tourism Child
Protection Code of Conduct, also known as The Code. Four of the 16
companies included in this year’s list are newly recognized as top members for
their work to integrate child protection practices into their businesses: Atlas
Travel & Technology Group, BCD Travel, Marriott International and Sonesta.

“We congratulate The Code top members and thank all of
our corporate partners for continuing to make child protection a priority at
your company,” said ECPAT director of private sector engagement Yvonne
Chen. “We look forward to continuing to work together toward ending child
sex trafficking and exploitation.

The 12 repeat top members for 2020 are

the Adventure Travel Trade Association, Altruvistas, Carlson, Elevate Destinations, Hilton Worldwide, Hyatt Hotels Corp., International Tour Management Institute, Maritz Travel, Meetings Professionals International — Washington State
Chapter, Nix Conference & Meeting Management, Real Hospitality Group and the Society for Incentive Travel Excellence

The Code is a voluntary set of business principles travel
and tour companies can implement to prevent sexual exploitation and trafficking
of children. It is a joint venture between ECPAT and the tourism private
sector. Companies commit to six principles and actions when they sign,
including providing an annual report on their implementation of Code-related
activities.
