ORIGINAL STORY:

A social media posting alleging a possible kidnapping of a child behind Captain D’s restaurant is false, Columbus police said.

At around noon, a social media posting making the rounds states that someone sitting at Chipotle nearby heard someone screaming in the back of a red van, and when the van was approached, it sped away, leading the poster to say she believed a child was being kidnapped.

Lt. Matt Harris, Columbus Police Department spokesman, said the department is looking into the incident as a domestic violence incident between two adults and it did not involve the abduction of a child.

The report of the domestic violence incident is also unconfirmed at this time, he said.
