Wasted time and money

The father and mother of an almost two-year-old boy received a tip about a missing child who was found.

Daudi Mwendwa and his wife travelled on Saturday 5 and arrived the following day at Kendu Bay.

“We were told the people who had the child had been released and that the child had been taken to a children’s home. We were disappointed because we wanted to see the people behind the turn of events.

We went to the children’s home, but the child we found was totally different. He was too young and dark in complexion. Our journey was all in vain,” Mwendwa told

Child snatched from his mum’s hands

He lamented that he had spent over KSh 10,000 going to Kendu Bay and returning to Mombasa for a fruitless trip when he needed money the most.

Their child, Ibrahim Amani Daudi, has been missing since Tuesday, September 13, 2022, when his mum took him to Lunar Park next to Mamba Village in Mombasa Nyali Area.

She was conversing with a woman she had known for a few weeks about a women’s group.

“My wife dozed off while they waited for a certain lady to come and join them for the small meeting. She suspects she was drugged because she fell asleep after having a drink.

Her ID, money, and our child were gone when she woke up. She reported the matter to Nyali Police Station immediately,” Mwendwa stated.

Dad of missing child stressed

Mwendwa had not been at work for close to a month, as the issue of his missing boy was stressing him out.

He had requested a leave to follow up on his son’s whereabouts, but the break ended with no concrete lead.
