Murfreesboro City Schools board extends Trey Duke’s contract: Director | #Education

Murfreesboro City Schools Board of Education voted unanimously Tuesday to extend the contract of district Director of Schools Trey Duke another four years.

The new contract begins July 1 and runs through June 30, 2026, superseding his current contract that was to run through the end of June 2023. Duke’s annual salary for overseeing the 14 schools in the K-6 district will be $153,830.50.

Duke insisted he would not accept any annual salary increase that exceeded the percentage increases for teachers across the district.

“This has, by far, been the best place to work, not only as principal, but now as director of schools,” said Duke, who took the helm of Salem Elementary when it opened in 2019. “I’m so proud of Murfreesboro City schools and I get to work with the best principals who love kids and the best central office staff who will do anything for kids, any day of the week.”
