Naperville man charged with sexual solicitation of girl

Records on file with the Will County Jail in Joliet identified the man as David V. Rosario, of the 3600 block of Chesapeake Lane in the Carillon Club area.

Naperville police Cmdr. Jason Arres confirmed Rosario was arrested Friday after an investigation by the department’s High Technology Crimes Unit.

Rosario on Nov. 16 allegedly used a cellphone and asked the girl “to engage in sexual conduct,” Arres said Monday. The act in question would have constituted aggravated criminal sexual abuse, he said.

Police arrested Rosario on Friday in the parking lot of a drug store on Route 59, on the city’s far west-southwest side, where he believed he would be meeting the girl, Arres said. Rosario offered no resistance as he was being taken into custody, Arres said.

Arres declined to say how police became aware of the alleged solicitation, and would not provide further information about the case.

“Out of respect for the victim and her family, (police) are not going to divulge details of the investigation,” he said.

Will County Circuit Court records indicated Rosario is charged with felony counts of indecent solicitation of a child over the Internet, traveling to meet a minor and grooming.

Rosario was freed on bond Saturday after a judge set his bail at $30,000, according to records. He could not be immediately reached Monday by telephone for comment on his arrest.

An examination of court documents indicated Rosario has no criminal record in Will, DuPage or Kane counties.
