LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC) — After receiving reports of an active shooter, Lancaster High School has been cleared with no signs of a shooting or any victims, sheriff’s deputies announced.
Authorities responded to the school on 32nd Street Wednesday afternoon after someone reported seeing a person with a gun on campus.
The school was placed under a lockdown shortly after as deputies and officers with the California Highway Patrol conducted their search.
Deputies did not find any evidence of a shooting, the sheriff’s department said, and no injuries were reported. It’s unclear if the call came from someone at the school.
Meanwhile, parents who were alerted of the reports were sent to Central Christian Church to reunite with their students.
Meanwhile, similar reports prompted a lockdown at Bishop Diego High School in Santa Barbara.
A shooting report also prompted a lockdown Tuesday at Hollywood High School.
