North Callaway School District responds to bullying claims after student’s death | #students | #parents

Callaway

NORTH CALLAWAY, Mo. (KMIZ)

North Callaway School District sent a letter to parents Monday night regarding the death of a student.

In the letter to parents, the district says any death is tragic but several posts are erroneously claiming the district doesn’t have a bullying policy. The district’s policy defines bullying and outlines what it does to stop it.

The letter goes on to state that another student bullied the deceased student. The district claims that student and the deceased student did have a fight but that both students participated in it over two and a half weeks ago. Both students were punished according to the event. The district says the fight was not related to the loss of life.

The district asks everyone to let the Callaway County Sheriff’s Department finish their investigation out of respect for family and students.
