#parent | #kids | Everything Mike White said after Florida’s upset loss to Oral Roberts

Florida’s 2020-21 season came to an end in stunning fashion on Sunday, as the No. 7 seed Gators blew an 11-point lead with just under 10 minutes left against No. 15 seed Oral Roberts. Tre Mann and Scottie Lewis missed game-tying attempts with less than 10 seconds remaining in the game, but both missed the mark and the Golden Eagles sealed the game with a rebound to win 81-78.

It was a shocking loss for Florida, especially how it took place. The Gators controlled the vast majority of the second half, and Oral Roberts showed almost no signs of making a run until a few minutes remained in the game. Nonetheless, Florida will head home without a berth in the Sweet 16.

Florida committed 20 turnovers and allowed Oral Roberts, a noted 3-point shooting team, to get up 30 attempts from deep. That all added up to a loss despite impressive overall performances by Mann, Noah Locke, Colin Castleton and Tyree Appleby. Here’s everything that coach Mike White said after the game in his Zoom press conference as the Gators finish the season 15-10.
