The 15-year-old was just walking out of Uniondale High School at about 2:40 p.m. Wednesday when a pack of unknown males approached him at the corner of Walnut Street and Leslie Lane, Nassau County cops said.
The group confronted the teen, stabbing him once and bashing him with a baseball bat, officials said.
The boy was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition.
“The Uniondale High School security team immediately intervened when they witnessed the student being accosted and stopped the situation from escalating further,” said Uniondale Union Free School District Superintendent William K. Lloyd in a statement, according to Newsday.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the attack, and police say the investigation is ongoing.
