Parent threatens nurse at Beersheba school for administering COVID vaccines | #coronavirus | #kids. | #children | #schools

The education minister condemned an incident on Thursday in which a parent verbally attacked and threatened a nurse who went to a school in Beersheba to provide COVID vaccinations to students.

In video of the incident, which appears to have been recorded by the threatening parent and was then circulated on social media, the man follows the Health Ministry nurse as she exits the school carrying supplies.

“Who gave them permission to enter with all this poison?” the man shouts. “Who let you in here, who are you? Murderers! Villains! Killing children in cold blood!”

“Dogs, dogs,” he shouts as the woman walks to her car. “Let’s see where you’re going, sweetie, let’s photograph your car, your details.”

When another Health Ministry employee begins to film the man, he shouts: “You’re a bunch of murderers!”

According to the Kan public broadcaster, a police complaint about the incident has been filed against the parent.

Education Minister Yifat Shasha-Biton condemned the incident and reiterated that students are only being vaccinated with the full approval of parents.

“Violence is wrong everywhere, and certainly within the education system,” she said in a statement. “I view with severity any harm to public workers who are doing holy work for public health.”

Shasha-Biton said that “the education system allows vaccinations with the permission of parents. It is forbidden in any situation to act violently. The behavior of this parent is worthy of all condemnation.”

Many health officials have faced death threats and violent outbursts over the COVID pandemic, with many people particularly outraged over the vaccination of children.

In August Shasha-Biton received boosted security amid a series of threats, particularly from anti-vaxxers.

Dr. Sharon Alroy-Preis, the Health Ministry’s head of public health, has also been the target of numerous threats and has received a security detail. Multiple individuals were arrested last month and charged with threatening Alroy-Preis.

“It goes to some very dark places — murder, hanging, doing bad things to my children, comparisons to the Nazis, there’s no end to it,” she told Channel 13 news last month about the ongoing threats.
