16 Year Old Bryce Davis Dead On The Scene

A drug deal gone bad ended with the death of a Central High School student and another teen fighting for his life. The Lee County Sheriff’s Department responded to shots fired in the 600 block of Lee Road 307 where they discovered 16 year old Bryce Davis  dead on the scene and 18 year old David Chandler Cobb critically injured.

“It initially appears that the two individuals that were located by the Deputies, the individual that’s deceased and the individual that was critically injured perhaps were engaged in an altercation which resulted in them shooting at one another,” Lee County Jay Jones told First News.

Both teens suffered multiple gunshot wounds. The 18 year old Cobb was airlifted to Grady Hospital in Atlanta in critical condition. According to a source with first hand knowledge of this incident,  the deadly altercation was over drugs and the entire encounter on that front porch was likely captured on surveillance video.

Area schools were on high alert following the shooting. The Phenix City School Superintendent issued a statement saying the loss of Bryce Davis has “greatly affected the Red Devil family” and that counseling would be available.

The Lee County Sheriff said there might be a witness in a vehicle who was in the area within seconds of the shooting.  Sheriff Jones is asking that person come forward to tell investigators what they saw. The Lee County Coroner has a secret witness line. You can call 334-742-4339 and remain anonymous.
