GALLOWAY, NJ — A Galloway teen was accused of selling the heroin and fentanyl that killed a man in Toms River. The drugs killed a 24-year-old man in December, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor’s Office.

Shemar Jackson, 19, sold the man heroin and fentanyl Dec. 4, the OCPO said. Authorities found the Toms River man dead Dec. 5 in a Toms River home.

Investigation revealed that the drugs Jackson sold had killed the unidentified man, the OCPO said. Jackson was arrested Thursday at his home.

“We will continue to prosecute strict liability deaths to send a clear message to these drug dealers that you will be held responsible,” Prosecutor Bradley D. Billhimer said in a statement. “Anyone that chooses to pedal potentially deadly narcotics in Ocean County will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
