CLIFTON PARK — The town will soon be home to a new pizza restaurant, located in the historic Jonesville Store.

Julie and Greg Carioto, who started their business Classic Crust Mobile Catering in 2015, purchased the building at 989 Main St from prior owner Sean Lee last week, according to a deed filed in the Saratoga County Clerk’s Office. The building is believed to have been erected about1854 and is on the town’s Register of Historic Places.

Classic Crust Mobile Catering is a food truck that is available for a multitude of events, including birthdays and corporate events. The truck offers pizza, beer and other side dishes in a custom-built 1946 Chevrolet truck equipped with a wood-fired oven.

The Cariotos could not be reached for comment on Tuesday.

Under Lee’s ownership the old store was home to Rocco’s, a contemporary American-Italian restaurant that recently closed.

Rocco’s was in business for five years. It opened in 2015 and quickly became a local favorite, gaining recognition from the town for its lobster bisque during the town’s annual Winterfest celebration.

The Cariotos paid $475,000 for the building, according to the deed. According to the Classic Crust Mobile Catering Facebook page, the restaurant is undergoing renovations with a hopeful opening date in the early spring.

The restaurant will offer pizza delivery, a bar, and all of its classic pizzas, as well as vegan and gluten free pizza, which will be made from scratch.

The store has changed hands frequently over the last decade. In 2012, owners John and Jean Travis and Harris Unger ran the store as the Main Street Grille, a breakfast, lunch and dinner deli with a local art gallery on the top floor. Before that, it was a natural foods store.
