Published

A teenager was hospitalized after he was shot during a drug deal gone wrong Sunday night on the North Side, according to San Antonio police.

Police responded to the 6800 block of UTSA Boulevard around 8:30 p.m. for a shooting in progress. There, they found a 14-year-old male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds, police said.

The teenager told police he went to the apartment complex at that location to purchase marijuana from two unknown suspects, but his friend snatched the drugs from the seller in an apparent attempt to steal the marijuana, officials said.

The seller then shot multiple times at the teenager and his friend, hitting the teen twice in the back, SAPD said.

The teenager was transported to University Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
