A TEENAGER has been arrested on suspicion of drug driving in Dublin city centre.
The 15-year-old was stopped by gardai while driving and proceeded to fail a roadside breath test.
The teen was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis.
Gardai confirmed in a tweet: “DMR Roads Policing, Dublin Castle, observed car being driven by 15 year old youth who subsequently failed roadside drug test.
“Arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of cannabis, blood specimen taken, investigations are continuing”.
Meanwhile on Christmas Day, 16 people were arrested for driving under the influence of drink or drugs.

Gardai said there were an extra five people detained in 2019 – with 11 arrested in 2018.
Since the Christmas Road Safety Campaign began on November 29, there were more than 650 drivers arrested on suspicion of intoxicated driving.
Gardai had an increased presence on the roads over the Christmas period.
