Boston police arrested a 17-year-old man on Monday after he allegedly led police on a chase, dropping a loaded weapon and a small bag of cocaine during the pursuit.
Just before 3 p.m. on Monday, officers patrolling the area of Greenwood Street and Ellington Street encountered three individuals known to them from prior interactions. When police approached one of them — a teen — he “immediately clutched his waistband” and ran.
Police arrested the teen near 150A Ellington Street. Officers found a loaded weapon in the path of the flight. Police also found a small bag of what appeared to be cocaine.
The teen will be arraigned in Dorchester District Court on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and possession of class B drugs, police said.
