ST. CLAIR TOWNSHIP, PA – Child endangerment charges are pending against two teen girls who let a two-year-old child use a vaping device, Pennsylvania State Police said. Police were alerted after a video of the incident was posted on Snapchat.

Police said a 17-year-old girl from Seward was babysitting the child in St. Clair, Westmoreland County and that she and an 18-year-old female permitted the toddler to use the device and recorded it. The vaping device is believed to have contained 3 percent nicotine but no THC, police said.

The child was coughing in the video after inhaling from the device but suffered no other effects, police said.

State police alerted the child’s parents, who were unaware of the incident, and also notified Children and Youth Services.
