Police find 151 child abuse images on 25-year-old’s computers | #childabuse | #children | #kids

A man who searched for images of 13-year-old girls on the internet was found with child abuse material on his computers when police raided his home.

Anthony Wells had 151 images when police seized his devices but only 15 of these were in the worst category, which showed children suffering serious abuse by adults.

He was sent on a sex offenders’ course after a Judge at Exeter Crown Court was told that he has already completed an online tutorial run by the Stop it Now organisation.

Chef Wells, aged 25, of Coronation Terrace, Dawlish, admitted three counts of making indecent images of children and one of possessing extreme images of bestiality.

He was sent on a Sex Offenders Treatment Programme under a three year community order by Recorder Mr Malcolm Galloway.

He was put on the Sex Offenders’ Register and made subject of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, which will enable the police to monitor his future online activity.

The judge told him: ”There is evidence of you searching for these types of images and an aggravating factor is the ages of the children in them, which was two to 16.

“You now accept you have a problem and after your arrest, you sought out the Stop it Now programme. I accept you regret your offences.”

Bathsheba Cassel, said police raided Wells’s home in July 2018 and found not only the images but evidence he had been searching for child abuse material online.

He had been visiting chat rooms and peer to peer file sharing sites and search terms included ‘teeny nudies’ and ‘nude 13-year-old girl porn’

There was also evidence of sexualised online chat with a person claiming to be 13 in which he sent an image of a penis.

Mr William Parkhill, defending, said Wells regrets what he did and has done everything possible to address his problem. He is keen to work with the probation service to ensure he never re-offends.

He said Wells has made a clean breast of his offending with his partner, who is standing by him and is due to give birth to their first child shortly.
