Police investigating shooting in Albany Sunday | #schoolshooting

ALBANY – Police are investigating a shooting that occurred early Sunday morning in downtown Albany, authorities said.

Albany Medical Center Hospital staff notified police at about 3:15 a.m. that a 31-year-old man with a gunshot wound on his leg had just entered the emergency room. The man told officers that he had been shot in the area of First and Lark streets, according to a release from the Albany Police Department.

His injuries were not life-threatening.

The shooting happens as gun violence continues to plague the City of Albany this year.
