Police investigating suspected child abuse; 3-month-old in critical condition

Tulsa police are investigating after a 3-month-old was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.

Paramedics called police around 10:30 a.m. after the child was found at a home near 61st and Sheridan with significant injuries, according to police. The child was taken to St. Francis in critical condition.

Detectives are in the process of interviewing the child’s parents, but no arrests have been made.

Police say the child’s mother told them the infant fell off a bed and became unresponsive.

According to TPD, the child sustained severe internal trunk injuries, multiple skull fractures and other injuries that do not align with that of an accident.

Doctors describe the child’s injuries as not survivable.
