Power Outage Affects 88 In Beverly Hills | #schoolshooting

BEVERLY HILLS, CA — 88 people in the area around Beverly Hills High School lost power Monday, according to Southern California Edison. SCE said that the outage, which affected the area north of Olympic Boulevard and east of Spalding Drive, was due to “upgrading equipment,” and as of 9:56 a.m. Monday estimated that power would be restored by 6 p.m. Monday.

The outage comes as thousands in and around Los Angeles lost power in a perfect storm of weather conditions. The strongest Santa Ana Winds of the season — 60-70 miles per hour — have resulted in a Red Flag Warning throughout Los Angeles and Ventura counties.

An outage affecting 40 people was reported in West Hollywood, just north of Santa Monica Boulevard in the Norma Triangle.

A wind advisory is in effect until Tuesday at 3 p.m., while a Red Flag Warning remains in effect until Tuesday at 6 p.m. “The combination of a strong offshore pressure gradient, strong upper levelwind support, and significant cold air advection is producing the strongest Santa Ana wind event we have seen so far this season, with the most dangerous fire weather conditions we have seen since October 2019,” the National Weather Service reported.
