A teenager who admitted beating and raping a pregnant woman along a riverbank in Lower Hutt will learn his fate today.
Bailey Meredith, 17, pleaded guilty to multiple sexual violation charges last month.
The woman, in her 30s, was in her early stages of pregnancy when she was grabbed from behind during her regular lunch time walk in June.
Meredith then forced her into thick bush and brutally attacked her. The woman suffered fractured ribs, severe bruising and trauma.
She will deliver a victim impact statement during sentencing at the Wellington District Court this afternoon.
