An intoxicated Rancho Pico Junior High School teacher was arrested Monday for child endangerment after allegedly being in possession of an open alcoholic beverage and taser on school grounds.

Around 1 p.m. Monday, deputies responded to a school on the 26200 block of Valencia Boulevard in Stevenson Ranch regarding a teacher possibly intoxicated, said Deputy Natalie Arriaga, spokesperson for the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

“Deputies arrived on scene and detained a female adult, later confirmed to be the suspect as she returned to campus in her vehicle,” Arriaga said.

Deputies conducted field sobriety tests on her and determined she was under the influence of an alcoholic beverage, according to Sheriff’s officials.

“During a search of her property, deputies located an open alcoholic container and a taser,” Arriaga said.

Emilee Renison, 27, from Santa Clarita was arrested for driving under the influence, possession of alcohol on school grounds, possession of a taser on school grounds and child endangerment, Arriaga added.
The William S Hart Union High School District is aware of the incident regarding the “probationary teacher’s” arrest.
“We are cooperating fully with law enforcement. The teacher is on leave pending investigation and disciplinary proceedings,” a Hart statement read.

Renison was arrested and booked into the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station and remains in custody at this time, Arriaga said.
