Ridgeview High School teacher, coach charged with criminal sexual assault charges | #teacher | #children | #kids

MCLEAN COUNTY (WEEK) — A Ridgeview High School music teacher and girls basketball coach has been arrested and charged with numerous counts of criminal sexual assault after an investigation that involved former students of the school and the teacher.

David W. Rotchford was arrested and is currently being held at the McLean County Detention Facility on 17 charges of criminal sexual assault, aggravated criminal sexual abuse in a position of trust, according to the McLean County Sheriff’s Office.

In June, detectives with the sheriff’s office began investigating complaints of inappropriate text messages that were sent to former female students at Ridgeview High School, according to the MCSO.

During the investigation, detectives discovered several more incidents of criminal behavior over several years involving Rotchford.

Rotchford was then interviewed and arrested on July 14, according to the MCSO.

Rotchford’s bond is set at $75,000.
