LAKE RONKONKOMA, NY (OnSachem.com / OnTownMedia.com) — Sachem Schools experienced a significant drop in the rate of new COVID-19 positives during the past week, reporting the fewest infections since November.

Sachem Schools Superintendent Chris Pellettieri made the announcement as part of a district-wide update on Friday.

“This past week, our schools saw our lowest numbers of positive cases of COVID-19 since October and early November,” Pellettieri wrote in a letter. “This is certainly cause for celebration, but we are not out of the woods just yet. Please, let’s be sure to continue to follow safety protocols, both inside and outside of school, so we can keep the momentum going.”
