SAGINAW COUNTY, MI — A Carrollton Township couple is facing child abuse charges after their toddler was hospitalized with burns.

In late September, Rebecca A. Hartman, 32, and Drew L. Porter, 23, brought their 21-month-old son to an area hospital for treatment of a significant burn on the lower portion of one of his legs, said Carrollton Township Police Chief Craig A. Oatten. Due to the nature of the injury, hospital staff notified Child Protective Services, which in turn alerted police, Oatten said.
