San Joaquin deputies find 3 abducted children; parents arrested | #childabductors



San Joaquin deputies said they found three at-risk children who were abducted by their parents almost a week ago.The parents, 35-year-old Karri Dominguez and 48-year-old Michael Pinon were also found and arrested on charges related to child abduction, child abuse and disobeying a court order, the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office said.The three children, 9-year-old Christopher Pinon, 11-year-old Evangeline Pinon and 16-year-old Angelica Pinon are considered at risk “due to an ongoing ‘substantial danger to the physical and emotional health'” present living with their parents, the sheriff’s office said.The parents were supposed to surrender the children to Child Protective Services, but the sheriff’s office said Dominguez did not show up at the pre-arranged time and place where she was supposed to hand the children over. A patrol deputy on Monday around 1:15 a.m. stopped a car with an expired registration near Main Street and Olive Avenue in the east Stockton area, the sheriff’s office said. The father was in the passenger seat and arrested. The driver, 36-year-old Laura Burkett was also arrested.Later that morning around 11 a.m., the sheriff’s office said deputies found the three children and their mother inside a home in the 17000 block of Stone Cellar Way in the City of Lathrop. Meth, meth pipes and other drugs were inside the home, and the sheriff’s office said those items were within reach of children.Two other children and adults were inside the home, but the sheriff’s office said Lathrop Police will take over that part of the investigation. CPS has custody of the children, but the agency is working to place them with family.
