School shooting threat cancels East Valley HS classes on Friday | #schoolshooting

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. — All classes at East Valley High School will be canceled on Friday as the district investigates a school shooting threat.

The threat was reported written on a wall of the boy’s bathroom, warning students to not come to school on Friday or they would be “shot up,” according to Superintendent Kelly Shea.

In a release, Shea said law enforcement and building administrators are investigating the threat, and believe they know who is responsible.

That said, they are canceling classes Friday until investigators are certain they have the correct suspect.

This marks the third threat East Valley has reported this school year. Shea said he decided to cancel classes this time due to the serious nature of the threat.

“Though I am not convinced this is a credible threat, I am not comfortable having students attend school,” Shea said in a release.

Normal athletic activities will remain on schedule, Shea said, and all other schools in the district will run on normal schedules.
