In recent years, more than 70 school districts have pushed back start times for middle schools and high schools in order to help growing teens get the sleep they need. Many health experts, including the American Academy of Pediatrics, have called for teens to start class no earlier than 8:30 am. They say the change could prevent car collisions, improve test scores, reduce teen depression, and have other positive effects.
