Schools grapple with increase in student fights and threats | #students | #parents


In Seminole, Markham Woods Middle School in Lake Mary reported 25 fights by Nov. 5, the most of any Seminole school and nearly as many as it did all of the 2020-21 school year when there were 31. The district added another dean to the campus last month and the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office planned new “intervention services” for the campus as well, said Michael Lawrence, a district spokesperson, in an email.
