Government Experience: Incumbent state senator, Ranking Member of the General Assembly’s Aging Committee, the Insurance and Real Estate Committee, and the Committee on Children. Member of the legislature’s Regulation Review Committee.
Education: Bachelor of Arts degree, Assumption College (1982); Master of Arts degree, Fairfield University (1985); law degree, University of Connecticut School Of Law (J.D. 1997).
Background: Over the years I’ve been an advocate for significant reforms in areas of state law dealing with health insurance & hospitals, health care accessibility and affordability, Medicaid, Aging in Place initiatives, family caregivers, women’s health care, school safety, and consumer protection. I am also the Director Emeritus of the Southwest Connecticut Agency on Aging.
Family: I’m very lucky to be married to my wife Cindy, who works as a school nurse in Stratford. Our family includes four children and six grandchildren.
