A 15-year-old Rancho Cordova boy disappeared in 2020. Roughly two years later, a Sacramento City Unified School District teacher was arrested in connection.Holga Castillo Olivares, 61, faces charges related to the detention of a minor with the intent to conceal from a parent(s) and contributing to the delinquency of a minor, the Sacramento County Sheriff’s Office said.Michael Ramirez, 15, was last seen at his Rancho Cordova home on May 18, 2020, the family said.Ramirez did not return home until March 11, 2022 — without any reason, the sheriff’s office said. Family of Ramirez said he was staying at a former friend’s home for two years. The mother of that friend was the teacher, the family said.Olivares has a court date set for Monday, jail records show. She is an employee at Alice Birney Waldorf-Inspired K-8 School.The Sacramento City Unified School District said “the charges filed are for acts unrelated to the employee’s assigned duties.” Olivares is on administrative leave while the school district investigates.SCUSD said Olivares “was taken into custody at the school after students were dismissed for the day.”The school district said it would not comment further because it is a personnel matter. The sheriff’s office is still asking anyone with information in relation to this case to call for tips. People can call at 916-362-5115.
