Seaford Woman Arrested for Abducting 2-Year-Old Son | #childabductors

GEORGETOWN, Del.- A Seaford woman was arrested Wednesday after she abducted her son and fled to California, Georgetown police said Friday.

According to police, 26-year-old Angelina Lopez, was arrested Wednesday after turning herself into Georgetown detectives.

Lopez was originally charged with child abuse on June 5, 2020, police said, and she was issued a no-contact order with her 2-year-old son. Lopez was however, permitted supervised visitation.

Georgetown officials said Lopez allegedly arranged to visit her son on July 25 and after staying the night at the home, she took her son the following day and fled to California.

An Amber Alert was issued shortly thereafter for the child, who was later located in Pasadena, Calif., police said. Lopez was not with her son at the time he was found.

She turned herself into the Georgetown Police Department on Wednesday.

Lopez was charged with a felony count of non-compliance and committed to Sussex Correctional Institute in lieu of a $50,000 cash bond, Georgetown police said.
