Seattle high school student killed in drive-by shooting; police looking for suspects

SEATTLE — Police are searching for a vehicle seen speeding away from a shooting in Beacon Hill that left a high school student dead.

Witnesses reported that someone had been shot around 4:00 p.m. Sunday near 15th Avenue S. and S. Forest Street.

According to Seattle police, the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition but later died.

A spokeswoman for Seattle Public Schools confirmed he was a student at Cleveland High school, the Associated Press reported.

Police said homicide and gang unit detectives are investigating the case. They are searching for a blue Honda seen speeding away from the area shortly after the shooting. No further description was given.
