Sheriff: North Alabama high school teacher charged with sex act with student | #teacher | #children | #kids

A 26-year-old social studies teacher at a north Alabama high school was arrested Friday after he allegedly engaged in a sex act with a student under 19 years old, the Limestone County Sheriff’s Office said.

Brody Gibson, who teaches 6th and 7th grade social studies at Clements High School in Athens, according to the school’s website, was charged with school employee engaging in a sex act with a student under 19, the sheriff’s office said. His bond was set at $5,000.

Further information about the alleged incident was not disclosed.

Gibson is the third north Alabama teacher arrested for allegedly engaging in sexually inappropriate behavior with a student in the last five days.

On Thursday, Donavan Wayne Dalton, 28, of Rainsville, was taken into custody Thursday and booked into the DeKalb County Detention Center, charged as a school employee having sexual contact with a student under the age of 19. His bond has been set at $150,000. He taught at a school in Sylvania.

And on Monday, Dalton’s twin brother, Dustin Wade Dalton, 28, of Rainsville, was charged with enticing a child for immoral purposes and dissemination of obscene material. Dalton had worked for a Sylvania school.
