Simmons College professor arrested on child porn charges

CONCORD, N.H. (WHDH) –

Police in New Hampshire have arrested a 37-year-old Simmons College professor on child pornography charges.

Alyssa Azotea, 37, of Concord is facing four counts of computer pornography, and three counts of endangering welfare of a child, according to Hollis, New Hampshire Police.

At some point, Hollis Police learned Azerea and a man she knew identified David Pelusi, 46, of Hollis, had been exchanging electronic messages about having sex with young children, including a child Pelusi knew.

Azotea turned herself into police on Aug. 28 and she was arraigned on Aug. 31.

Police began investigating the case when they received a report of a woman accidentally finding child porn on household member’s cell phone. After taking that report, police arrest Pelusi, 46, of Hollis and charged him with possession of child sex abuse images and computer pornography. Police say he had pornographic images of a child under 16 and used a minor’s photo to encourage sexual acts.

In a statement, Simmons College said, “Simmons College just learned that a part-time faculty member who has worked at the college since 2011 is under investigation in New Hampshire. The charges, if true, would be deeply disturbing. Consistent with our policy, this faculty member has been put on paid leave pending the outcome of this matter.”
