All stakeholders, including families, staff and community members will be able to complete a survey from November 16 through December 7.

The first round of interviews will be January 12 through January 14, 2021.

The position will be officially vacant as of December 31, 2020 per an agreement between the former superintending Michael Rossi and the board of education.  Patrick McQueeney has been the acting superintendent since Rossi’s resignation was announced in July.

Rossi had taken a leave of absence in May citing “personal reasons.”  The end of his tenure in Sparta was marred by controversy regarding his contract renewal that included ethics charges against board of education members and a New Jersey Department of Education Office of Fiscal Accountability and Compliance or OFAC violation from the state.

The next board of education meeting is scheduled for Thursday, November 19.
